These flowers are so easy to make and add a little something fun to your fall projects. I had a TON of burlap laying around and decided we needed to feature these flowers in a few projects. We will be linking back to this post in the future as we use these in several fun DIY crafts!
For these flowers you will need:
- Burlap (each flower is a strip of burlap about 15 inches long and 3 inches wide)
Take a strip of burlap and fold it in half “hot dog style” Begin wrapping the folded burlap to create the center of the flower. Wrap it four or five times. Twist the burlap and continue wrapping around the center. After the first two twisted wraps around, let the burlap unfold and keep twisting it. Wrap all the burlap around the center twisting every inch or two to create the rose petals. Flip the flower over, making sure you’re holding it together so it doesn’t unravel. Thread you needle and make sure there is a knot at the end. Sew through the middle of the flower and back down the center. Sew through the outer petals to keep them together, tie a knot when you have sewn enough petals to keep the flower together, and cut the leftover string. And now you have burlap flowers to add to your projects or add to a bouquet of fall flowers. Check back here for ideas on how to use these burlap flowers!
