It’s so much fun to create a new ornament every year for your kids. When we take ours out of the box every year to put on the tree it brings back so many memories. They can look back and see how much they have grown every year, and it’s a great Christmas tradition! I think these puzzle piece wreath ornaments are especially cute!
Here is what you will need:
- Glue gun
- Green spray paint
- Red craft paint
- Wallet size pictures of your kids
- Puzzle pieces at least 20 per ornament
- Some ribbon
The first thing that you are going to do is spray paint all of your puzzle pieces (front and back). Let them dry and have your glue gun heating up. Then you are going to hot glue the puzzle pieces together in a circle shape. It doesn’t need to be perfect, but make sure that the wallet size picture fits well. When you glue gun the puzzle pieces you are going to make sure to overlap them. I usually stack some on top of the others as well. Then flip over your wreath and glue gun the picture on. I just put the glue on the edges. Make a loop with the ribbon and glue gun that on the back as well so you can hang it on the tree!
Lastly, just flip it over and put some red craft paint on a paper plate. Grab a ball end pin, and dip it into the paint adding three dots together. Do this all around the wreath. (These are the holly berries).
Now you are finished and you can let your little one hang it on the tree! It’s a cute puzzle piece wreath ornament. These would also be great to make for their grandparents!
